The Division of Cardiac Surgery at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute of Northwestern at the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation (NMFF) functions as a collaborative team that utilizes highly skilled physicians, physician assistants and advanced practice nurses. Together this group offers highly sophisticated cardiac surgeries that include valve repair, valve replacement, percutaneous aortic valve replacement, heart transplantation, ventricular-assist devices, Maze procedure, Dor procedure, thoracic aortic aneurysm repair and coronary artery bypass surgery. Research to improve cardiac surgery is offered through the Clinical Trials Unit of Northwestern, Feinberg Cardiovascular Research Institute, and the Program in Cardiovascular Regenerative Medicine.
