The Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University

The Feinberg School was founded in 1859 and has a long tradition of excellence in education and patient care. This is complemented by nationally recognized research in such areas as cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and AIDS. Of the nation's 125 medical schools, Northwestern was ranked among the top 20 by U.S. News & World Report in 2001. The school's full-time faculty totals approximately 1,200; medical students, 700; and residents and fellows, who are trained through the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, 900.
